This mussel sock stripper is used in areas, where one has chosen to use nylon socks or nylon/cotton socks or rope as a culturing substrate. The supplied mussel socks are being externally cleaned from mussels by a set of counter rotating brushes. A separate hydraulically driven capstan is mounted to the above unit to ease the stripping operation. The funnel can be connected to, for instance, a sock guide plate or conveyor, if needed. An option, in case no hydraulic installation is available, is a hydraulic power pack (type: HPP-4).
