Secondary Netting

M-125
Clear plastic mesh.

Use

Used with mussel socking to help prevent unnecessary fall-off of maturing mussels.

How it is used / deployed

Mussel socks are deployed in single dropper. When the secondary netting is placed on the sock, a piece is cut off that's longer than the sock and a knot is tied on one end. Then the secondary netting is placed around the outside of a 5-gallon pail with the bottom cut out of it. Then the socks are pulled up and a diver puts the pail with the secondary netting over the bottom of the sock, the sock is lowered through the pail leaving the secondary netting over the sock, which is tied at the top.
